Brevard Zoo Named One of Nation’s Best Zoos
Space Coast families have long considered Brevard Zoo to be among the best zoos in the country and now it’s official: the attraction has been included in TripAdvisor’s 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards. This designation was bestowed upon the zoo after TripAdvisor users ranked it as the 14th-best zoo in the United States. Of more than several dozen animal attractions in the state, only two Florida facilities ranked above Brevard Zoo.

Wrote one reviewer: “This is one of the best zoos I have been to and I have visited dozens of them. Not too big, not too small and the animals all seem to be very happy and healthy. The landscaping of the zoo is fantastic and provides great shade for the animals and the visitors. Well done!”

Other TripAdvisor users praised the Zoo’s friendly volunteers, spacious habitats, unique exhibits and natural beauty. The facility maintains an average of 4.6/5 stars and is the highest-rated attraction in Melbourne.

EDC among Florida’s Best Local Economic Development Agencies
Southern Business & Development Magazine issued their “Best of Economic Development in the American South”
The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) was listed among the top four “Best Local Economic Development Agencies” in the state of Florida.

“Recognition from a publication in its 22nd year of promoting economic development activities in the southern part of the United States is very humbling. Making this list sends a strong message of local support for the EDC to site selectors and businesses looking to relocate or expand to Brevard County.” Stated Lynda Weatherman, president and chief executive officer for the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast.

In their spring 2015 issue, the publication highlighted the 30 “Best of” categories throughout Florida, of which the EDC made the list several times. In addition to receiving their nod among “Florida’s Best Local Economic Development Agencies,” EDC initiatives such as Technology Docking and Made in Brevard were among the “Florida’s Best Local Economic Development Initiatives.” In the category, “Florida’s Three Best Economic Development Assets”, the EDC was mentioned among partner organizations such as Space Florida and Enterprise Florida. The spring 2015 publication of Southern Business & Development can be seen at www.sb-d.com
