Palm Bay Firefighters and Walmart to Help Feed Hungry Kids
This Saturday, March 12 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, the Palm Bay Firefighters will host the 2016 Ladder Climb to help raise money for The Children’s Hunger Project. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Walmart store on Malabar Road in Palm Bay. The money will be used to purchase food for distribution to local children that are coming to school hungry on Monday mornings.
“There are young school children that go home each weekend with little or no food to eat,” said Firefighter John Mellace, who is helping to coordinate the event. “The Children’s Hunger Project provides food for these hungry children. Whatever the Palm Bay Firefighters can do to support them is good for the kids and good for our community as a whole.”
Associates at the Malabar Road Walmart store will also be assisting the firefighters in their efforts to raise money for the local charity. A Palm Bay Firefighter will climb their 100-foot aerial ladder truck for each gift card purchased at the Malabar Road Walmart store.

Free Job Placement Program 35yrs +
Men and women seeking employment the Women’s Center Career Guidance program is a personalized program that explores career options and individual growth. Those who participate are able to have a clearer understanding of what motivates them, the skills they want to use in their work, and the education or specialized training that may be required to improve opportunities.
Under a grant from the DEO we assist homemakers 35 years of age or older, male or female, needing training and support to transition into their first job or back into the workforce. These individuals were once supported by a spouse or family member, but due to divorce, separation, death, or disability they are now unemployed or underemployed and need to become self- sufficient.
