Launch Federal Credit Union Offers Free Shred Events
Launch Federal Credit Union and Progressive Document Destruction of Cocoa will host a free “Shred Day” at various Launch FCU branches. Members of Launch FCU and non-members are invited to stop by and have their papers shredded for free, up to one car-load.
April 29th – Merritt Island Branch from 8:30 am – 10:30 am (415 Fortenberry Road, Merritt Island)
The paper can be viewed being shredded on the spot through a closed circuit television within the shredding compartment. Progressive Document Destruction repulps and reprocesses all the paper into recycled goods.
Launch Federal Credit Union is a full service community credit union with twelve branch locations throughout Brevard and Volusia counties. Eau Gallie Arts District April Events
Sunday, April 24, EGAD Food Truck Festival will occupy the southern end of Highland Avenue. Cash or credit will get you dinner from one of a dozen food trucks featured from the Orlando Food Truck Bazaar. There are also a few vendors and acoustic musicians onboard, too. Lots of people bring their own chairs and enjoy the evening.
St. Petersburg, FL, has some of the best murals around and all located on Central Avenue. Ride with EGAD TOURS to St. Petersburg on Saturday, April 30, for a private tour of the Salvator Dali Museum for an hour, lunch, shopping, and take in the murals by bus before returning home. The bus leaves Eau Gallie Square at 8 am and returns at 6 pm, in time for your evening. Tickets are $75 and available online at www.egadtours.com by credit or check.
Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County and Lowe’s invite women to volunteer during National Women Build Week April 30 - May 8th, 2016
Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County will participate in National Women Build Week, April 30- May 8 when more than 300 Habitat affiliates nationwide will host women build projects in partnership with Lowe’s, the underwriter of Habitat’s Women Build program.
National Women Build Week challenges women to come together and devote at least one day to building simple, decent and affordable housing in their local communities. More than 41,000 women volunteers from all 50 states have participated in previous years.
Please join us for the National Women Build Kick-Off Ceremony at 8:30 AM on Saturday, April 30th at 2154 Cedarwood Place in Melbourne.
Volunteers interested in working on site must pre-register by phoning MaryAnn Zamora at 321-728-4009 ext.120. Construction will begin at 8:00AM on April 30th.

Brevard Zoo Celebrates Mother’s Day
In recognition of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8, Brevard Zoo is offering big discounts to moms visiting with their families. Moms accompanied by at least one paying child will be given free admission to the Zoo. They can also take 50% off the Canopy Walk, Challenge Reloaded, Black Diamond and Zip Only courses at Treetop Trek.
To take advantage of these offers, which may not be combined with other promotions, tickets must be purchased in person on Mother’s Day.
