Keith Gee named Executive Director of The Children's Hunger Project
Larry Ciaccia, Chairman of the Board for The Children’s Hunger Project, has announced that Keith Gee will be the new Executive Director effective August 29 replacing Robert Barnes, who informed the board of his intention to retire as Executive Director earlier this year.  Mr. Barnes, founder and Executive Director for the charity which started six years ago, will remain in an advisory capacity.

Mr. Gee has worked for nonprofit organizations from small startups to national and international companies and has lived in Brevard County since 2007.

“Mr.Gee brings a long history, experience and proven track record across a broad range of non-profit organizations to our charity. Mr. Gee will work with The Children’s Hunger Project board of directors on strategic planning, finances, and operational management,”  said Mr. Ciaccia. “On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Mr. Barnes for his dedication, selflessness and perseverance in our mission to end child hunger in Brevard County. Under his leadership TCHP has expanded from feeding a few dozen children to our current level of over 1,600 today.”

As center gears up for WiSE, media opportunities now offered
The Air Force Technical Applications Center will offer media opportunities during the week of Aug. 22-26 with its project officers and key leaders responsible for organizing the center’s third annual Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Symposium.

The symposium is scheduled for Sept. 7-9 with a featured theme of “Breaking the Norm” and will include luminaries such as Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, commander of Air Force Materiel Command; Maj. Gen. Heidi Brown, director of global operations for U.S. Strategic Command; Kay Sears, vice president of Lockheed Martin Strategy and Business Development; and Jane Bishop, vice president of Northrup Grumman Aerospace System’s military aircraft division, just to name a few.

Media outlets are highly encouraged to run lead-up stories and features about the symposium to encourage people – women especially – to register for the event.  Affiliates are asked to contact the AFTAC Public Affairs office at (321) 494-7688 or via email at aftac.pa@us.af.mil to schedule times to interview WiSE project officers.
