Seniors Helping SeniorsĀ® Launches New Web Site

Seniors Helping Seniors®, a leader in senior in-home care services, launched its new website June 1st in conjunction with celebrating their fifth anniversary.  The newly developed site offers quick access to information about caregiving, in-home services, and the opportunity for active seniors to add meaning to their life while earning additional income.

Jennifer Helin, co-owner of Seniors Helping Seniors, shared “With the new website, we are able to be more responsive to the needs of seniors and their caregivers.  When a son or daughter visits and realize their parent needs help, they want to be able to pull up information wherever they are, in the car or out at lunch.  They want to be able to research local options quickly and meet with us before they have to return home.  The new site also enables us to provide local resources in a timely manner.”

Seniors Helping Seniors was founded in 1998 with two simple ideas; seniors can help each other age more happily and gracefully, and, seniors who give and those who receive benefit equally.  Co-owners Jennifer Helin and Rosemary Barton brought Seniors Helping Seniors to Brevard County in 2012 after seeing the need in their own families.  They now provide services throughout the county, from Barefoot Bay to Titusville, and keep over 90 area seniors busy helping others.

Brevard Zoo celebrates largest-ever fundraising event

Safari Under the Stars (SUS), Brevard Zoo’s annual fundraising event, brought in a record-breaking total of $629,689 in its 2017 iteration on Saturday, April 29. The event was presented by Flammio Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.

“We are extremely fortunate to be in a community that appreciates the importance of our animal wellness, conservation and education programs and is so passionately willing to open their hearts and wallets to fund them,” said director of development Karen Davis.

The festivities included the third annual Give from the Heart initiative, a segment of the program that garners contributions for a specific project in real time. This year, SUS attendees gifted $126,360 to the Zoo’s animal wellness programs.

The event was not without its share of celebrities: Bill Klein and Jennifer Arnold of TLC’s “The Little Couple” were present to christen the ENS, while Bindi Irwin was on hand to champion the Zoo’s animal wellness and conservation initiatives.
