Legendary wildlife expert Jack Hanna coming to Brevard Zoo
Brevard Zoo invites the community to attend a ticketed presentation featuring legendary conservationist and media personality Jack Hanna. The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 27 from 12 to 1 p.m., is sponsored by Health First Health Plans.
“We are so lucky to have such a renowned animal expert come to visit,” said Karen Davis, the Zoo’s director of development. “Jack has won over hearts around the world as a beloved naturalist and adventurer, and we can’t wait to give Brevard County the chance to see him in person while supporting the Zoo’s missions of animal wellness, conservation and education.”
Jack Hanna Live! is part of Brevard Zoo’s two-day Safari Under the Stars extravaganza to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Safari Under the Stars is presented by Flammio Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. To enter this event, tickets must be printed and in hand and each guest age three and up must have their own ticket. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.brevardzoo.org/jack-hanna.
Free Housing and Financial Education Workshop: March 12
The City of Melbourne is offering a free financial education workshop through Community Housing Initiatives, a housing nonprofit organization. The workshop will cover key topics essential to improving financial wellness, including managing finances (spending and saving habits), understanding credit cards and prepaid credit cards, establishing a budget, understanding the importance of credit, guidelines on credit repair, and the ABC’s of home buying. The workshop is free, and a free dinner will be provided to all attendees. Gifts and gift cards will also be raffled off during the program. The workshop will be held on March 12, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at the South Brevard Women's Center, 1425 Aurora Road, Melbourne, FL 32934. To reserve your spot call 321-242-3110.
Rock Paper Simple - Open House - March 12
On March 12, Rock Paper Simple will be hosting an Open House to showcase their newly expanded office space. They recently renovated to make room for new team members by moving into the connecting space on the East side of their existing building. The Open House will feature catering by Bearded Chef, complimentary drinks, and giveaway raffles.
Rock Paper Simple has been providing local and national businesses with website development, digital marketing, and branding for over 6 years. Starting in a smaller space on the same property, RPS steadily grew from just a few people to a 14 strong team of content writers, developers, graphics designers, and marketing specialists. In 2015, RPS moved into a its larger space, and, at the end of 2018, began renovations to expand the space even further to accommodate more team members. “We are so blessed to have been able to grow steadily efficiently the way we have,” said CEO Joshua Adams. “The team loves the new space, and we look forward to the next season of our business.”
Junior League of South Brevard, Inc. Announces Kids in the Kitchen
The Junior League of South Brevard, Inc. (JLSB) is excited to announce their annual Kids in the Kitchen event. The FREE event teaches kids and parents the importance of eating healthy foods and physical activity to create a healthy lifestyle. Attendees will be provided with a fun afternoon of nutrition and physical activities in an expo style event from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th 2019, at the Wickham Park Community Center, 2815 Leisure Way, Melbourne, FL 32935.
