Create Your Own Bath Products at Nourish
Shoshanna Walker, product creator and founder of Nourish Natural Bath Products, has created a new in-store experience for customers to create their own safe and all-natural bath products.
There are four options to choose from: green tea face mask, chocolate lip scrub, body scrub, or bath salts. "The green tea face mask lightens, brightens, and tones the skin. The chocolate lip scrub tastes amazing and exfoliates the lips. The body scrub will leave your skin feeling baby soft and nourished. The bath salts are perfect for soothing sore muscles," says Walker. "Guests will whip up a customized product, and then take it home to enjoy!"
Nourish Natural Bath Products is offering a special for this new in-store experience. $15 includes a $5 store credit. Available any time Friday-Sunday from noon to 4pm. For other times, call to ensure availability or to book a private party for your group. 321-723-6464 http://nourishsavannah.com
Bonsai extravaganza returning to Brevard Zoo
Brevard Zoo guests can experience the Japanese art of bonsai when Bonsai Weekend returns on August 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is organized by the Bonsai Society of Brevard and will take place in the Zoo’s Nyami Nyami River Lodge.
The event, which is included with Zoo admission, will feature dozens of miniature trees and a bonsai care demonstration at 1 p.m. on both days.
Guests of all ages can attend a workshop on August 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. for $35, which includes a tree to take home. Children under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by a paid adult. Registration is open at www.brevardzoo.org/bonsai-weekend.
Brevard Zoo plans triple sea turtle release
Up to three rehabilitated sea turtles will be returned to the ocean at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach on Thursday, August 1 at 10 a.m.
Thurber, an adult female loggerhead sea turtle, arrived at Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center on May 5 highly anemic, covered in leeches and carrying eggs. Subadult loggerhead Josie was brought to the Healing Center in March by Sea Turtle Preservation Society; this turtle was lethargic, underweight and sporting an old boat prop wound at the time of arrival. Juvenile green sea turtle Boxer, who has been at the Healing Center since December, was underweight, anemic, covered in barnacles and had a small wound on their left flipper.
During their respective stays at the Healing Center, all three patients were treated with fluid therapy, nutritional support and medication. Each patient that passes their final blood check the day prior will be cleared from veterinary care and eligible for release.
This event is open to the public, and a filming and viewing area will be reserved for media. All media personnel are asked to check in with a Healing Center volunteer upon arrival. More information about Thurber, Josie and Boxer is available at https://www.brevardzoo.org/turtles.
