MLB named Florida’s Commercial Service Airport of the Year
Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) was recently named the state’s top commercial airport by Florida’s Department of Transportation (FDOT). The award for 2019 Commercial Service Airport of the Year was announced at the FDOT Annual Aviation Awards ceremony held in conjunction with the Florida Airports Council 50th Anniversary Annual Conference.
“Being named Commercial Service Airport of the Year is a testament to Team MLB’s dedication to bettering our airport, our community and Florida aviation,” said Greg Donovan, A.A.E., executive director at Orlando Melbourne International (MLB). “All of the incredible work Team MLB has accomplished could not have been done without the continued support of the Florida Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and Melbourne Airport Authority.”

Seeking Volunteers for Coastal Clean Up Day Sept. 21st
Come out and volunteer for a great cause! Being a resident of Brevard County means you are part of a coastal community and you can help keep it clean by participating in the 2019 International Coastal Cleanup day! Florida Wildlife Hospital is seeking sponsors and vendors for the 6th Annual Hoot in the Park at Wickham Park on November 23 from 10am - 2pm. This is a free, dog and family-friendly, fundraising event. There is an opportunity for attendees to have their dog run a lure course, meet our ambassador animals, and start their holiday shopping. We have convinced Santa to stop in again this year while on vacation to have a few photos taken with dog and kids. September discounts return to Brevard Zoo
Floridians are invited to take advantage of savings throughout the month of September at Brevard Zoo. Beginning after Labor Day, guests will receive five-dollar admission on Tuesdays, and children ages 3–11 will receive free admission on Saturdays and Sundays when accompanied by a paid adult (no more than four children per adult).
September Discount Days is open to Florida residents only and may not be combined with any other discounts. All adults must present a state-issued photo ID or utility bill with address and matching photo ID. This promotion is presented by the Zoo’s corporate partners.
Treetop Trek offers fall savings for Florida residents
Florida residents are invited to soar through the skies while saving some cash at Treetop Trek this fall. From September 3 to December 20, state residents can take 30% off all Canopy Walk, Challenge Reloaded, Black Diamond and Zip Only courses. This promotion, which cannot be combined with any other offer or discount, is subject to blackout dates.
To receive this discount, participants must visit www.treetoptrek.com and print out the Florida resident discount flier or present it on their phone. A valid Florida state-issued photo ID or utility bill with address and matching photo ID is also required.
