Doctors Rachel and Barry Feinberg, medical doctors who are certified anesthesiologists and pain-resolution experts, have opened Injury Specialists, a physician-led practice in Frontenac for the treatment of injuries and pain. Were unique in that we integrate assessment, diagnosis and the latest in injection therapy and medication management with manual physical therapy, rehabilitation, and surgery, all under one roof".
Injury Specialists first evaluate each patient, assessing body alignment, strength, functional movement patterns, and range of motion, Rachel Feinberg explains. We then identify their dysfunction and develop an individualized treatment program. The initial assessment is followed, if necessary, by various types of injection therapy to reduce pain and inflammation or relax injured tissue prior to physical therapy. We have doctors and physical therapists treating the patient at the same time, which is unusual, says Barry Feinberg. Technology is a useful tool, but no substitute for hands-on physical therapy.
