K Friese + Associates (KFA) was founded in 2003 in Austin, Texas, by Karen A. Friese, PE. KFA quickly grew into an established civil engineering consulting firm, providing services to our public sector clients with a special emphasis on water, wastewater, transportation and drainage planning, design, and management projects.
In May 2023, KFA was acquired by Lochner, a leading provider of planning, environmental, design, construction engineering and inspection, and right-of-way services for surface transportation, rail, transit, and aviation clients across the United States. The combined firms have more than 200 professionals in Texas with offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Round Rock, San Antonio, Tyler, and Waco.
