About Kansas Turnpike Authority
Kansas Turnpike Authority
Welcome to the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA), where our commitment to excellence has propelled us forward since our establishment in 1953. Nestled at 9401 E Kellogg Dr. in Wichita, Kansas, we take pride in maintaining a 236-mile stretch of user-fee supported roadway, spanning from the Oklahoma border to Kansas City. As a quasi-public organization, the KTA operates independently, relying on toll revenue rather than state or federal tax funds to ensure the seamless operation of our turnpike system.
Our mission is clear: to move Kansas forward. We achieve this by prioritizing safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction in every aspect of our operations. By adhering to a fiscally responsible and businesslike approach, we not only maintain the integrity of our infrastructure but also contribute to the economic prosperity of the region we serve.
Collaboration is at the heart of our success. The Kansas Turnpike Authority closely partners with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) to fortify the state's roadway system. This partnership was formalized on July 1, 2013, through legislation that directed both the KTA and KDOT under the capable guidance of the Kansas Secretary of Transportation. Together, we navigate the path toward a future where transportation is not just a means to an end but a catalyst for progress and connectivity. Thank you for joining us on this journey as we pave the way for a safer, more efficient Kansas.
