About Us

Cassia County Historical Society and Museum

Welcome to the Cassia County Historical Society and Museum, where our mission is to illuminate the rich tapestry of history woven throughout the Cassia area. Nestled along the Snake River in South Central Idaho, Cassia County spans 2,557 square miles, making it the 8th largest county in the state. Established in 1872 and evolving over the years to include parts of Twin Falls and Power counties, our county has a diverse landscape, ranging from the highest peak of Cache Peak at 10,339 feet to the vibrant towns of Burley, Declo, Albion, Oakley, Malta, Almo, and Elba.

At the Cassia County Historical Society and Museum, we are dedicated to safeguarding and celebrating this history. Our exhibits feature a captivating array of displays, including train cars, WWII memorabilia, farm equipment, and more. By preserving the unique heritage of Cassia County, we aim to bridge the gap between past and present through engaging displays, enlightening exhibits, and educational initiatives. As we uphold the values of respect for the past, we are steadfastly committed to the notion that by understanding where we come from, we empower and educate future generations. Feel free to explore our museum, located at 1142 Hiland Ave, Burley, Idaho, and join us in this journey of discovery. For further information, please contact us at 208-678-7172 or cassiamuseum@cassia.gov.
