About La Virgen De Guadalupe Catholic Church
La Virgen De Guadalupe Catholic Church
La Virgen De Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mesquite, NV, has a rich history dating back to the early 1970s when a small group of Catholics gathered for Mass in Overton, NV. Initially meeting in private homes or donated spaces like the Valley Inn Motel, the community's faithfulness led to the acquisition of a former LDS meeting hall in Bunkerville, later dedicated as "La Virgen de Guadalupe." Over the years, under the guidance of dedicated pastors such as Fr. Gustavo Cruz and Father Clarence, the community flourished, leading to the establishment of the parish in 1999 and the eventual construction of a new church in Mesquite, consecrated in 2009.
With the generous support of parishioners, benefactors, and the donation of 10 acres of land by Building Developer Brian Vail, the dream of a new church became a reality. The culmination of years of dedication and prayer came in January 2022, with the ceremonial burning of the mortgage, signifying the community's commitment to their faith and the realization of their vision. La Virgen De Guadalupe Catholic Church stands as a testament to the enduring strength of faith and the unity of its diverse congregation, welcoming all to join in their journey of worship, service, and love.
