Chamber Announces 2016 Board of Directors
The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the results of the recent election of incoming Board members. 'This is clearly one of the smoothest transitions experienced by the Chamber in several years. Incoming Chair Noel Smith headed the Nominating Committee which developed a slate of candidates that was overwhelmingly elected by the general membership', according to Ken Cook, outgoing Chairman of the Board. The new Board will be effective as of January 1, 2016.
The incoming members are:
-Dave Ballweg, Owner/Operator,
LoadTec
-Dave Bennett, Marketing VP,
Fidelity National Title Company
-Roberta Franco, Executive
Director, Salvation Army
-Jayne Kendrick, Owner,
JL Kendrick Accounting
-Kathy Lee, Owner/Operator
'View on Mesquite' and
'View of Southern Utah'
Travis McDowell, former General Manager of Conestoga Golf Course, was nominated and elected, but had to resign unexpectedly to return to his family's business in the Midwest. In his place, the Nominating Committee and Board of Directors have appointed Kathy Poindexter,
Mesquite Local News Advertising Representative and
Mesquite Clean Air representative, to complete his term.
The returning Board members are:
Noel Smith,
Colonial Properties
Keith Buchhalter,
Overton Power District
Nancy Hewett,
Wolf Creek
Coleyne Angel, Co-owner,
Have Boutique, Will Travel
'Please join me in welcoming the new Board members, and congratulating all for their willingness to commit their valuable time. This is a very strong group of Directors, and I am confident that they will continue to build upon the Chamber's very successful 2015!', said Cook.
