Members,
We need your help with an exciting project!
Clark County has officially launched its ACT Work Ready Communities initiative. This is a culmination of multiple major milestones accomplished over the past few months by a cross-agency team representing the education, workforce development and economic development eco-system in Southern Nevada. Clark County’s ACT Work Ready Communities initiative will be “going live”, joining other regions across the nation successfully using the ACT WorkKeys assessment and the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) to connect employers to a ready workforce.
As part of the requirements for Clark County to reach the official designation as a Work Ready Community, we need to have 351 employers complete the form on the ACT website showing their support for this effort. The link to the form is here:
https://www.workreadycommunities.org/employers
If you would be willing to support this effort, please go to the link and complete the one-page form as soon as possible.
Why should employers consider the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate?
- Reduction in turnover rate
- Reduction of hiring time and costs
- Potential for training funds
- Identification of core skill level of prospective employees
- Critical Thinking
- Problem solving
- Reading comprehension
- Applied math
The official launch of the WRC initiative took place at Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, during the meeting of the Southern Nevada Local Elected Officials Consortium on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 1pm.
