About Us

Hainje’s began in September 1914 as Hainje’s and Phillips Specialty Company by Mr. John A. Hainje. The first store consisted of a rolling rack (“the old rolling store”) going door to door selling merchandise on credit. The first motor vehicle was used in 1918.

Today the business has grown to include four modern stores located in Brewton, Greenville, Monroeville and Atmore, with thousands of installment accounts in more than twelve South Alabama and Northwest Florida counties. The Monroeville location was opened in 1949.

Hainje’s is presently an ESOP COMPANY, 100% Employee Owned. The employees at each store is dedicated to help you find exactly what you need for your home at an affordable price to fit your budget with easy and convenient payment plans.
