About African-American Cultural & Gene Soc of IL
African-American Cultural & Gene Soc Of IL
The African-American Cultural & Genealogical Society commenced its journey on August 31, 1993, boasting an initial membership of 25 individuals hailing from Decatur and Central Illinois.
Our membership comprises a diverse spectrum of community stakeholders including pastors, educators, utility workers, clerical staff, supervisors, seniors, salespersons, and factory employees.
The imperative for an African-American Cultural & Genealogical Society (AACGS) is undeniable. Research indicates that merely 1% of Macon County's African-American population has delved into their ancestral lineage.
