The Mt. Zion Fire Protection District is a professional organization dedicated to serving the community with excellence and commitment. Established in 1946 as a Volunteer Fire Department, the District has grown to include 30 active volunteer firefighters, 3 full-time employees working on a 24/48 schedule, and 5 part-time employees. Covering a 42 square mile area, the District proudly serves the Village of Mt. Zion and Mt. Zion Township, which has a population of 6,000 residents. The District's mission is to provide comprehensive fire suppression, rescue, and advanced life support emergency medical services, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
Operating out of a single fire station equipped with 9 pieces of fire apparatus, the Mt. Zion Fire Protection District responds to over 600 emergency and non-emergency calls each year. The dedication of our highly trained personnel ensures that we deliver prompt and efficient services, maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Our commitment to the community is reflected in our continuous efforts to improve our capabilities and readiness, ensuring that we are always prepared to meet the needs of our residents. The Mt.
