Paradise Valley Community College is one of 10 colleges, two skill centers, and multiple satellite locations, which comprise the Maricopa County Community College District located throughout metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. PVCC has two locations to serve the North Valley -- a beautiful campus in North Phoenix at Union Hills and 32nd Street, and the Black Mountain site at Carefree Hwy and 60th Street.
Founded in 1985, Paradise Valley Community College has grown from a per-semester credit enrollment in 1987 of 3,700 to over 10,000 students today.
Paradise Valley Community College is a beacon of learning and educational opportunities offering more than 60 degree, transfer and certificate programs plus so much more to the north central/east Valley. PVCC provides an affordable, high quality, respected college option for those new or returning to college, to get started on a career path, or who plan to transfer to a four-year university.
The college offers a wealth of free amenities to the public such as library services, computer Wi-Fi, meeting areas, astronomy evenings, seasonal events, career and student services and a range of personal growth workshops. The stunning Center for the Performing Arts offers an array of music, theatre and dance performances, and visual arts exhibits.
PVCC’s athletic program produces national level two0year college teams in competitive sports such as soccer, cross country, golf, tennis, softball and baseball. The campus fields, track and courts are available for use by the neighborhood and the Fitness Center brings wellness to the surrounding community through programs such as Silver Sneakers and memberships for the public.
PVCC’s emphasis on volunteerism helps students become engaged citizens and advocates for positive social change and, in doing so, addresses community needs through dozens of volunteer and service-learning projects. Lifelong learning for all is at the very core of the college’s mission.
