About Us
As a not-for-profit human services agency, Benevilla has been known and recognized for its quality care services for 30 years. Our mission is enhancing the experiences of life for people of all ages. Check out all of our Programs and Services here.
Our name has changed! Our new name continues an evolution which recognizes and celebrates the agency’s own evolution now and into the future.
Originally founded in 1981 as Sun Cities Interfaith Services, the agency provided support services to help older adults maintain their independence. In 2001, as our services expanded beyond Sun City and Sun City West, we became Interfaith Community Care. Since then, our services have continued to evolve as we work to create bridges of understanding between generations and it became clear that embracing the wider view of the future called for a name with a wider perspective as well.
Choosing a new name is never an easy process, especially while honoring nearly three decades of history and hundreds of passionate volunteers, donors, participants and partners. Dozens of interviews with those stakeholders revealed a common theme that we act as surrogate family or as support in the ups and downs of life.
So “Benevilla” was born. With “bene” meaning good and “villa” meaning home, the word connotes “good home.” Our new tag line – Cultivating Caring Communities – continues that sense, as does a logo that is a nod to the past and an exciting vision of the future. Part sun, part view of the circle of caring people from above with faces turned up, arms open and hearts wide, we hope that together, the new name, tag line and logo convey the warmth and support the agency is proud to have offered for nearly three decades.
