Fall Festival

The annual Oconee Chamber Fall Festival (Since 1974) was a huge success. Booth spaces were completely sold out weeks in advance. Early feedback from the festival vendors and attendees has been positive. Mercedes Dewey of Whirly Wraps says “WOW.  Stunning!  Thrilling!  At a loss for words. The drizzle didn't seem to dampen the spirit of the crowds and I had a marvelous, record-breaking show”.

Leslie Crump told us, “I just wanted to let you know that this past weekend's event was one of the most organized events that we have been to.  We really enjoyed the festival and we had many customers even with the rain”.

A big thank you goes to our Presenting sponsor:  BankSouth

Accounting Program Announces Endowment, Honors Former Dean

(Dr. Larry Dennis, submitted photo)

The Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University of North Georgia (UNG) recently announced an endowment goal of $200,000 to benefit and support the college's accounting program. The announcement was made at a luncheon honoring Dr. Larry Dennis, former accounting professor and former dean of the college, for whom the endowment is named.

"The excellence of our accounting program is due in large part to Dr. Dennis and others like him," said Dr. Anne Duke, head of the Department of Accounting & Law. "The funds from the H. Lawrence Dennis Accounting Endowment Fund will provide additional opportunities for both our accounting students and faculty in regional engagement, research and general programming support. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to honor the immeasurable contribution of Dr. Dennis to the Mike Cottrell College of Business, his students and the extended community."
