Letter from the Chair:

As we come together this time of year to celebrate the Holidays, we normally give thanks for all that we have. I want to give a sincere THANK YOU to all of you that have made this new group a great success so far. Without your continued support, we would not be where are today, nor would be poised for such a strong showing in 2015. We have come a long way in the last 6 months. We have established monthly lunch meetings, toured a few locations in our wonderful city (including City Hall and the OPD), had our first happy hour (WOO-HOO!), and have made lasting friends / relationships along the way. Our next big task is we are getting ready to decorate our "scene" for the Celebration of Lights campaign. This is another great opportunity we have to further our cause and get more people interested in OYP. As I look forward to the end of the year, I am both proud of what we have accomplished and excited to see our potential become reality. I am honored to be a part of this fantastic group and I hope all of you are too!

Sincerely,
Bob Engert
OYP Chair

Professional Development Lunch:

We will not have a November or December lunch due to the holidays. We'll start again in the new year on January 22, 2015 so save the date!

Our challenge to you is to get to know a couple people from the group. During the next couple months reach out to two people and schedule a coffee, lunch or drinks and have a one-to-one.
Use the member list here!

Celebration of Lights:

This year the OYP will have a light display in the City's Clebration of Lights from November 28 through December 30.

Celebration of Lights is a holiday light display held at Fort Zumwalt Park. Each scene is designed and funded by local organizations, churches and businesses. Started in 1991, the event attracts more than 10,000 vehicles each year and more than 5,000 individuals during the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll.

We will need volunteers to help with set-up, take-down and to run the gate one night. If you would like to come out and help with any of the following dates please contact Greg Beckerle at gregbeckerle@gmail.com

Set-Up: November 19, 2014 - Afternoon - (6-8 volunteers)
Gate Night: December 3, 2014 - 5-10 pm - (8-10 volunteers)
Take-Down: January TBD - Afternoon - (6-8 volunteers)
