Going Green Commitments
- Educate our membership and community on conservation of water and resources.
- Sponsor National Arbor Day tree plantings at local schools.
- Actively participate in civic beautification projects to promote beauty, community pride and a healthier environment.
- Promote cleaner air, reduced soil erosion, and provide cooling shade by supporting reforestation in the Plumas National Forest by funding Penny Pines Plantations.
About Us
The objectives of the LAKE OROVILLE AREA GARDEN CLUB (LOAGC) are to promote activities pertaining to horticulture, to educate it's members in home gardening and the area of Floral Design, to sponsor and participate in Flower Shows, Conservation and Civic Beautification.
Meetings are held September-June on the 2nd Thursday of the month. "Coffee, Cake and Conversation" from 9:30 to 10:00am with the General Meeting beginning at 10:00am. Meetings are generally adjourned around 11:30am although this may vary depending upon that month's scheduled program.
Meeting location is Trinity Presbyterian Fellowship Hall at 2350 Foothill Blvd, Oroville, CA (North of Olive Highway on Foothill Blvd.).
We invite guests to attend +++ your first meeting is FREE.
Past and current civic beautification projects include and are not limited to: Arbor Day plantings at local public schools, care of Chinese and Bolt Museums, Centennial Cultural Center plantings, care of Blue Star Marker in Beldon.
We proudly award a $500 scholarship to a horticulture student in June of each year. To learn more about the requirements, application process and filing deadlines, please contact us.
The Lake Oroville Area Garden Club is a member of the Butte District, California Garden Clubs, Inc., Pacific Regional and National Garden Clubs, Inc. Additionally the Lake Oroville Area Garden Club is a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation and Oroville Chamber of Commerce.
