Volunteers on the Trail (12/31/69)
Within the past few months some of LOBO’s members have become Mountain Bike Patrol volunteers, for the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, one of our most important goals is to improve the quality of the natural and recreational experience of visitors from supplying directions and offering maps and information to Hikers, Equestrians and cyclists. During any given patrol, we may be called upon to perform a wide variety of duties; from supplying directions and offering maps and information, to encouraging or exacting compliance with the parks' rules and regulations — even contacting and coordinating the resources needed to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
Mountain Bike Patrol volunteers not law enforcement, but work in partnership and communication with the authorized law enforcement agencies and as such are responsible for observing and recognizing any acts that may constitute a potential health hazard to the safety of people and property.
Why volunteer?
There is a gap in coverage for the trails that we support and use.
To supplement the small amount of resources and people available to area land-managers.
Creates ambassador opportunities for the mountain bike community.

About Us
The Lake Oroville Bicycle Organization (LOBO) was formed in 1996 from what was the Oroville Bicycle Advisory Board. LOBO's mission is to bring awareness that cycling benefits our health, families, economy and community, and that it's fun. LOBO advocates for bicycle access as needed.
LOBO members are anybody with an interest in bicycling From Doctors to Ditch-diggers, County Workers and Business Owners. Members’ interests seem evenly split between road and traffic issues and dirt trails for recreation. LOBO exists for all types of cycling and for cyclists of all ages.
The club has organized rides, puts on the Annual 24 Hours of Gold Mountain Bike Race, supports the Sheriff's Christmas Bike Give-A-Way, Oroville Police Dept VIPS Bike Rodeo and provides cycling information to the public and offers cycling education.
