Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the first edition of our Wednesday E-Newsletter!
As mentioned in a quick email last Friday, we are going to two emails per week. The Monday morning email will have all the event reminders of what you’ll want to register for, Wednesday’s will now be the e-newsletter day.
Several members missed the reminders and suggested a two email a week format, so we will see how everyone likes this.
Yesterday’s State of the City Luncheon held at Arizona Broadway Theatre for Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat was an amazing event! I swear every time I hear Mayor Carlat speak I am proud and excited to be part of this community. From all her achievements in the last year and her vision for Peoria’s future, inspires me to want to have our Chamber of Commerce be a part of it all. Thank you Mayor for all of your efforts, on behalf of the business community and the Peoria Chamber.
Attention Networkers!!! Our first Networking Breakfast on April 5th is at the Chamber office and will be one you won’t want to miss. I have some big ideas to share with you and I need your help. Please make it if you can.
Exciting things happening in Old Town Peoria! Lucidi Distilling Co. Fire Station 1 is now open for business!!! This place is absolutely incredible – make it a pint to go check it out. It’s at 8307 West Washington St. in Old Town Peoria. Go to http://lucididistilling.com/ to learn more about it.

Kids Front and Center in Old Town Peoria
New Opportunities After School

A completely renovated and nearly new Peoria Community Center on Jefferson Street is the central buzz for kids in Old Town. It’s a fully supervised, multi-generational facility that is earning rave reviews from young and old alike.
The K.R.A.S.H.(Kids Recreation After School Hangout) Program at the center is wildly popular. From the end of the school day until 7:30 p.m there are movies, activity trips, fitness and sports challenges, arts activities, and more. There are even afterschool snacks at no cost from the St. Mary’s Food Bank Kids Café (enrollment form required).
Older kids have made the computer lab and fitness room at the center their everyday place-to-be. The techie-types have really taken to the robotics, science, technology and video gaming offerings. It’s a kids’ wonderland here in our own neighborhood.

Graduate School Discount for Chamber Members at Trine University
Trine University's Graduate School summer semester registration is currently underway at the Peoria campus. Classes at the Peoria campus begin May 2.
Is your employer a Chamber of Commerce Member? If so, you may be eligible for up to $3,600 off your graduate degree at Trine.
The graduate degree programs consist of the following:

75 Years of Airpower Airshow Next Weekend
Luke Air Force Base is proud to present to the Arizona community the "75 Years of Airpower" Airshow April 2-3, 2016. Attendees will get to experience exciting aerial acts, an array of static displays from both the past and present, and have the chance to interact with the Airmen who carry out the Luke mission of "Training the World's Greatest F-35 and F-16 Pilots." The Airmen at Luke are excited for the chance to say 'thank you' to the community for the incredible support they give our mission each day.
