August 2016

President's Corner

Oofta it’s nasty out.  I’m headed to Minnesota next week so I’m practicing my Minnesota lingo – you know the “oh geez” and “ya you betcha”.  No matter how humid it is there, it cannot possibly be worse than here the last couple of days.

I had the extreme pleasure of attending the Huntington University of Digital Arts grand opening yesterday morning.  What an amazing transformation they have made to the old Dolce Salon building.  This will be a big asset to Peoria as Huntington will be pulling students from across the valley so they can get a good idea of how great a City we have. They even have students already enrolled!  If you have children or grandchildren looking for an education in a fast growing field of the future, have them check out Huntington.

Plans are really shaping up for the Asset Management 10 Million Dollar Shootout Golf Classic.  This year’s event is at Trilogy Golf Club in Vistancia on September 23rd with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm.  10 lucky people drawn at random from all Super Card purchases will have a chance to swing for a hole-in-one and One Million Dollars each.  Besides the Shootout, you’ll have a chance to win a motorcycle from GO AZ Motorcycles on one Par 3 and Shea Homes has something special to win on every Par 3 along with many other fabulous prizes donated by our Chamber members and local Peoria businesses.

This year’s golf tournament is the Peoria Chamber’s major fundraiser for the year.  The money raised from this tournament is used to fund all the programs the Chamber offers to support our members and the local Peoria business community.  We would really appreciate your support.

Enter a foursome, buy a sponsorship, provide a raffle prize, volunteer at the event, or just come out to watch the Shootout and join us for dinner, we have something for everybody!  Call the office at 623-979-3601 or visit peoriachamber.com for all the details.
Have a great week!

O’Keith Judish, is a member of the National Association of REALTOR®s (NAR) and the West Maricopa Association of REALTOR®s (WeMAR), and has received a bronze sales award from the WeMAR Association in 2012, 2014 and Silver sales award  2015 for real estate sales.

O’Keith, Team Lead and Founder of Compass Point Real Estate Group, is licensed with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties serving Phoenix and the West Valley area to help guide buyers and sellers through the real estate process.

With 20 years of experience in graphic design, web development and social media, O’Keith began his real estate career in 2009 using web marketing as his direct source for customer relations. As the internet has taken off, so has real estate. Today, 95% of all customers begin their home search using the internet.

The world of real estate is changing faster than ever before with the rapid advancements in technology, consumer awareness, purchasing habits and of course, the perception and reality of the economy.

O’Keith takes great pride in learning and understanding the market at all times, while maintaining a cutting edge in the market place with early technology adoption, social media awareness and efforts, and outside of the box innovative marketing techniques. He believes there is a dream home for everyone and that real estate can sell in any market condition, at a fair price and timely manner, with proper and professional execution.

Having someone like O’Keith, with his knowledge of real estate, experience in graphic design, web development and social media technology is essential to all clients in selling or choosing their new home in the Phoenix area.

O’Keith is committed to the highest standard of service for his clients and wants to ensure everyone is treated honestly and fairly.

Urgent Need for Blood Donors

We encourage Chamber of Commerce members to give blood during this critical blood shortage for valley hospitals. We are holding various blood drives throughout the community and everyone is welcome with valid picture ID (first and last name). Donors are encouraged to set an appointment time, which usually takes about one hour.

Every one blood donation can make a difference and for my family’s story, one unit of O Negative helped my daughter recover from pneumonia. As difficult as it was to share this with everyone, I felt it was necessary because there are so many other patients, especially at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, who are in current need during this shortage. Click here to see the news story that was featured on 3 TV about the shortage.

Below are dates, times and locations of upcoming blood drives in the Peoria area. Click on the link to schedule your appointment!
