The Arizona Developmental Disabilities Council will share information about the use of service animals to assist persons with disabilities. This seminar will address questions that arise about the use of service animals by taking a look at issues from the perspectives of service animal owners and members of the community who encounter them in public settings.

9/11 Rememberance Events
Members of the Peoria Police and Fire-Medical Departments will attend several community events in remembrance of the 15th anniversary of 9/11 this week.
Desert Harbor Elementary will have a “Walk of Honor” on Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. for police, fire and members of the military. After breakfast and a performance of the Star Spangled Banner by the school band, the student body, along with parents and staff, will line the halls and cheer as the first responders and military walk past. Students make signs and give high fives as the special guests walk along.
Frontier Elementary will hold a “Heroes Luncheon” on Sept. 9 at 11:30 a.m. for parents who are in the military or are first responders. Peoria police officers and firefighters have lunch with the kids while surrounded by thank you signs.
The ACES School in Peoria will be holding their annual “Patriot Day” event on Sept. 9 at 9:30 a.m., a school-wide assembly to remember the tragic events of 9/11 and show their appreciation for the first responders and members of the military.
Peoria first responders will also attend several other events held by the community including events at churches and community groups.
