I swear, I think half of the West Valley is down with some sort of bug. I had a horrible sore throat for a few days so I called the doctor. I’m not kidding, the person who answered the phone sounded even worse than I did. I can only imagine how she was feeling.
I just had the pleasure of attending an open house at one of our Peoria manufacturers called Novembal
. This company makes the plastic caps that go on all shapes and sizes of water bottles and juice containers. They have three factories in North America; one here in Peoria, one in New Jersey and one in Quebec. They produce over 10 billion caps each year! It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
Their plant is so clean and spotless that I swear you could eat off the floor. For the tour, we all had to be dressed in gauze gowns and have our hair covered to ensure nothing gets contaminated with anything that could potentially affect the taste of the water the caps are going on.
Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat
was one of the guest speakers along with Sam Stromersten, Sidel Group President & CEO and Lorenzo van Haelst, Managing Director Novembal
. Mayor Carlat thanked them for placing their company in Peoria and expressed how excited everyone was to have them be a part of our community. She also reiterated her commitment to continue to bring top innovative employers to Peoria so the talented workforce we have living in Peoria can work close to home.
Heads up for the Chamber Mixer on Wednesday, January 25th at Revolu, Modern Taqueria and Bar.
There will be drink and food specials for everyone to enjoy. I have eaten there several times and the food is unique and absolutely fantastic. All the recipes are created by Jeremiah, the owner
, and the mixture of tastes are amazing.
Mark your calendar for our Chamber Luncheon on February 8th at Arizona Broadway Theatre
. The featured speaker is from the US Department of Labor
. They will be doing their best to give you the straight facts on all the things happening right now that are affecting your business. This luncheon is one you won’t want to miss.
