April 2017 Presidents Corner We have phones!!!! You would not believe how excited we are to have telephones again. The single most difficult thing we had to deal with in the office move was being without telephones and our printer/scanner/copier since March 13^th. BIG THANK YOU to Carmen McKinney our Financial Coordinator as she has had all the Chamber calls going to her cell phone. Needless to say, she is even happier than the rest of us that we now have phones. Our Asset Preservation $10 Million Shootout Golf Classic is coming up soon on May 12^th at Trilogy Golf Club in Vistancia. There’s a shotgun start at 12:30pm with a buffet dinner following the Shootout. 10 lucky golfers will be drawn after the rounds are completed to each take a swing for a hole-in-one to win $1 Million. Of those 10, the closest to the pin will win $1000 cash! This year we’ve added more excitement with all golfers getting to participate in a 3-putt putting contest – sink a putt from 10ft, then 30ft and then 50ft and you can win $30,000 cash! If more than one person makes all three putts ties will be broken by cutting cards. Foursomes are $500 and individual golfers are $125. Our next Golf Committee meeting is tomorrow at 11:00am at the Chamber office. We would really appreciate you joining us as we can use all the help we can find! If you haven’t heard already, we have a special guest for our Chamber Luncheon on May 10^th at Arizona Broadway Theater. We are very honored to have Secretary of State Michele Reagan discussing the 2017 Legislative Agenda and her ongoing efforts to modernize Arizona’s Business Services Division. See the invitation in the right hand column for all the details. Last but not least, we are looking for people to help us plan our 98^th Anniversary Celebration & Community Awards Banquet to be held the last week of June. Our goal is to continue to find the families of the people who settled in Peoria in the earliest beginnings and have them share with us stories of their family history.
