Hungarian Diplomat to Visit Lahr-Well Academy's End of Year Celebration on May 24
A very special program with a special guest will be presented at Lahr-Well Academy's end of the year celebration.
We cordially invite members of the chamber to Lahr-Well Academy on Friday the 24th of May at 9 am. Lahr-Well Academy is a small Christian school. We currently have 10 students, including two of the students who spent the 2022-2023 academic year studying abroad in Hungary.
Upon their return, they became ambassadors of Hungarian culture. American students became curious about Hungarian language and culture. By initiative and encouragement from Principal Dr. Almeda Lahr-Well, a Hungarian course was started in January. A native Hungarian speaker teaches the students twice a week. The students, who are between the ages of 7 and 16, all learn together in one group. They will present. among their other achievements, their new language skills at the program.
It is rare to see American students learning the Hungarian language and do it so well, therefore their achievement will be recognized by a special visit from Mr. Laszlo Andras Aradvari, Diplomat for Hungarian Community Relations from the Consulate of Hungary in Chicago. He will also give a speech to the parents, grandparents and guests in English.
We are also planning a small party with Hungarian snacks after the program.
