Business Summit November 21st, 2019


The Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership (ACRED) is hosting a first annual business summit on November 21st at Anoka Technical College.  The purpose of this event is to bring business leaders and owners from all across the County to learn about topics that will help their business grow and succeed, and bring various chamber members and non-members together.  We will have two panel discussions: one on expansion planning and the other about workforce and training resources. 
 
The Quad Area Chamber has elected to be a sponsor of this event.   Put it on your calendars and more information will follow as it is available.

Anoka County Hazardous Waste Changes to Winter Hours

The winter schedule is now in effect for the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 3230 101st Ave. NE, Blaine.
Winter hours will end March 31, 2020.  The facility will be open 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Household hazardous wastes that are accepted include acids, aerosol cans with product remaining, drain cleaner, driveway sealer, fluorescent bulbs, liquid paint, liquid mercury, mercury thermometers, motor oil, oven cleaner, paint stripper, paint thinner, pesticides, pool chemicals, stains, varnishes, and wood preservatives.
Residents dropping materials off at the site must provide proof of county residency, such as a driver's license.  The facility accepts household hazardous waste from residents of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties.  Businesses, organizations and schools may not bring hazardous waste to the facility.
Wastes that are not accepted include ammunition, appliances, batteries, dried paint, electronics, empty containers, radioactive wastes, railroad ties, and tires.  For disposal options for unacceptable wastes, call Anoka County Recycling & Resource Solutions at 763-324-3400 or e-mail recycle@co.anoka.mn.us.
