Make this St. Patrick's Day the Best It Can Be!


Never in my wildest dreams did I think this Weekly Update would be so challenging to get out!   I can't help but go back to last week's issue and what was planned for the week ahead.  The uncertainty that we are all dealing with is beyond imaginable.   
So I leave you with this Irish Blessing!

QACC representatives attend MN Festivals & Events Convention

The QACC has joined the MN Festival & Events Association and formed a Chamber Festival Committee.     Committee Members include Mark Statz, Fete des Lacs, Centerville, Brian Hronski, Blue Heron Days, Lino Lakes, & Heidi Zwarski, Lexington Fall Festival.   Joining them are Sharla Fossen, Lily and Lace Events and Dorothy Radermacher, Chamber Secretary. 

Attending the 2020 Convention in Duluth were Dorothy Radermacher & Mark Statz March 11 - 13th.    Sessions that we participated in were: 
  • Wednesday Networking: Explore Duluth a Night on the Town
  • Thursday: Keynote:  You don't need to advertise a good party; Speed Networking Ice Breakfer; Nine Networking Mistakes; Cutting Edge Strategies/Engaging Volunteers to meet Mission; It's Rock & Roll and Like it; Whack a Mole Management; The Do's and Don'ts of Creating a Site Plan; Building Event Content that Attracts Sponsors, Attendees and the Media; From State Fairs to Rodeos - Food and Beverage Trends
  • Friday: Partnering with your City - What's better than Free? Your events-Our Parks!; Fundraising for Your Festival and the All - Important Sponsorship Deliverables; Stop the Scroll: Get their attention and maximze Social Media.  Active Shooter Preparedness and COVID-19.   
This will allow us to be informed and professional in working to collaborate with each of our communities with their annual festival, states Dorothy Radermacher, Chamber Secretary.

Anoka County News...

Free Training for Tax Aide Volunteers
            Anoka County’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is looking for volunteers to help seniors, low-income people, and people with disabilities file rent credit and property tax returns. 
            No tax experience is necessary, but volunteers must pass a background check and attend a free training session at the Mary Ann Young Senior Center, 9150 Central Ave. NE, Blaine, 12:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, or 12:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.
            Tax aide volunteers are needed at sites in Anoka, Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, and Ham Lake May through July.  Morning and afternoon shifts of three to four hours are available.  An experienced tax volunteer will be at each site to assist and support new volunteers.  All equipment and materials are provided, and mileage is reimbursed.
            To register for the April 7 or April 14 training session, call Tricia at 763-324-1661.
