When You've Attended One Too Many Zoom Meetings

Fire Fighter Thank You

Cheryl Kolb

We can't say "Thank you" enough to the brave men and women who have been fighting the Claremont/Bear/North Complex Fire(s) for over a month now!

Word on the street is that there will be folks lining the sidewalks tonight starting around 6:45 p.m. to give their thanks, smiles and waves as the crew heads back from the Bucks Lake/Brownsville areas to our Fairgrounds.  Bring your signs and your face masks and remember to maintain social distance!

Business Recovery Survey

Gabriel Hydrick and Amy Velazquez

From Amy Velazquez, Director of Business Services at Alliance for Workforce Development:

Your business and employees are important to our local and state economy. As you may recall, we conducted a COVID-19 Business Recovery Survey a few months ago to gauge the current state and identify needs of businesses as a result of COVID-19. As local agencies continue to advocate and look for ways to support our business community – we are reaching out once again to get a pulse on the current business climate. PLEASE share this survey far and wide!

To help us advocate for resources it is important that we can identify and quantify the impact COVID-19 continues to have on your operations, how you are adapting, and what aid or resources are still needed to ensure economic recovery.

In collaboration with our partners, we have launched a follow up survey at:

The survey will be open until October 10th. Please give us 15 minutes of your time to respond to the survey.

This survey is intended to help us gather information related to the impact COVID-19 may have on our economy. This information will be reported on an aggregate level; individual business information will not be shared without prior consent.

Thank you for helping us in this critical time. With this information we can better advocate for programs and continue to support recovery efforts for our local businesses and the community.

From Gabriel Hydrick, County Administrator:

I have teamed up with Alliance for a COVID survey for our businesses. You will recall they issued their survey a couple months ago and I asked to ‘ride their coattails’ this time to include desired assistance so the County can customize a business assistance program with COVID relief funding the County may receive. The more input we receive, the better plan we can develop that benefits most, if not all our businesses.

I thank you in advance for your responses and assistance. You are our movers and shakers and I am grateful for your contributions and investments in our County beyond your business.
