Feather River College Receives Sierra Pacific Industries Foundation Grant

Feather River College

Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) often uses the slogan, “Growing forests for our future”. Now, thanks to the SPI Foundation, Feather River College (FRC) is part of that same future the company is focused on growing. Just recently, FRC was awarded a grant from Sierra Pacific Foundation to help expand the Welding & Manufacturing program at our institution. This grant award will enable FRC to add new welding equipment and materials, safety equipment (PPE), and increase access to career technical training for FRC students.

Artist Fellowship Grants

Plumas Arts

In case you are not yet aware, the California Art Council (CAC) is very excited about offering direct funding to artists for the first time in more than 20 years.

Here is a link to information about the grant...
https://arts.ca.gov/grant_program/individual-artists-fellowship
The CAC reports that their "direct grant opportunity for individuals, the Individual Artist Fellowships, closes on April 1, 2021. The Fellowships continue to receive a high level interest from artists across the state. We recommend applicants contact staff well in advance of the deadline to ensure they can be accommodated. Staff assistance is not available after 5 p.m. on the day of a grant deadline."

We anticipate that these will be fiercely competitive grants, but we would love to see some Plumas County artists being considered. To give yourself the best chance for a competitive application we strongly encourage you to watch the video and review the guidelines presented on the grant information link above and make contact with the CAC staff to discuss your application at your earliest convenience. The California Arts Council staff is very approachable and very interested in helping new grantees.
