Plumas County Moves Into Orange Tier

Plumas Co. Public Health

Effective Tuesday, March 9th, Plumas County moved to a less restrictive tier, the Orange Tier. On February 16, 2021, Plumas County moved from Purple Tier to the less restrictive Red Tier. In August, the state adopted Blueprint for a Safer Economy Plan, which replaced the state’s county data monitoring plan. The blueprint is a four tiered system:

• Purple (Widespread COVID-19 transmission): Most restrictive
• Red (Substantial)
• Orange (Moderate)
• Yellow (Minimal): Least restrictive

Due to the continued mitigating practices used by residents, the continued testing for and containment of COVID-19, and vaccination of residents, Plumas County is moving from Red Tier to Orange Tier. This is a positive step for Plumas County as it is less restrictive with many local businesses being able to open for indoor services with more capacity.

Some of the changes related to the Orange Tier are as follows:

• Retail: Open Indoors with modifications: No capacity restrictions
• Places of Worship: Open indoors with modifications: Max 50% capacity
• Gyms/ Fitness Center: Open indoors with modifications: Max 25% capacity and +Climbing walls
• Restaurants: Open indoors with modifications: Max 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
• Movie Theatres: Open indoors with modification: 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
• Offices: Open indoor with modifications: Encourage telework
• Bars (No food service): Open outdoors with modifications

For a full list of sectors and current industry guidance you can go to the state’s website at https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/

Even though Plumas County has moved from Red to Orange Tier and our overall cases of COVID-19 have decreased; it is still critical everyone continue to practice the following mitigating actions: wear face coverings while in public places or while interacting with others not in your household, frequent hand washing, physical distancing, avoiding social gatherings with those not from your household and get vaccinated once it is your turn. Thank you, Plumas County, for your continued patience and commitment to slowing the spread and saving lives.

If you have any questions please contact the Plumas County COVID-19 informational phone line 530-283-6400 or send an e-mail to COVID19@countyofplumas.com or visit our website at www.plumascounty.us.

Artist Fellowship Grants

Plumas Arts

In case you are not yet aware, the California Art Council (CAC) is very excited about offering direct funding to artists for the first time in more than 20 years.

Here is a link to information about the grant...
https://arts.ca.gov/grant_program/individual-artists-fellowship
The CAC reports that their "direct grant opportunity for individuals, the Individual Artist Fellowships, closes on April 1, 2021. The Fellowships continue to receive a high level interest from artists across the state. We recommend applicants contact staff well in advance of the deadline to ensure they can be accommodated. Staff assistance is not available after 5 p.m. on the day of a grant deadline."

We anticipate that these will be fiercely competitive grants, but we would love to see some Plumas County artists being considered. To give yourself the best chance for a competitive application we strongly encourage you to watch the video and review the guidelines presented on the grant information link above and make contact with the CAC staff to discuss your application at your earliest convenience. The California Arts Council staff is very approachable and very interested in helping new grantees.
