About Us
For over 30 years, Boot Barn has been outfitting the west. With humble beginnings, founder Ken Meany had a vision and brought that vision to life knowing the importance of family, values and independence. With a passion for the western lifestyle and an entrepreneurial spirit, Boot Barn was born.
Ken came from a family entrenched in the western lifestyle. His grandfather was part of the Oklahoma Land Rush in the 1800’s where the family acquired over 160 acres of land that still remains family owned to this day. Ken’s grandmother came from a family of metal miners that had roots in Colorado and Arizona. While taking an active interest in his family heritage, Ken was influenced by his family’s involvement in the western lifestyle as they were a part of developing the new frontier in the west. Knowing where he came from and the popularity of “Western” movies with Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and John Wayne, it was no wonder in 1978, Ken opened up the first Boot Barn in Huntington Beach, CA.
Since that very first store, Boot Barn has continued to grow into the largest Western Wear retailer in the world. With a service first mentality and the biggest selection of clothing, boots, accessories, tack and more, Boot Barn has grown to over 80 stores across seven states. You can find locations in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado and Montana.
