History Lives Here Month Open HousesThe Museum's eight buildings and grounds will be open free to the public onSaturday May 5 and Saturday May 12, from 11 am to 2 pm. Bring a picnic lunch to share with your family and friends on our inviting grounds, take your time visiting the buildings and discover some island history along the way. Learn about a few of the exciting plans in the works for your Island Historical Museum. The museum will be opening for summer self-guided tours beginning May 17th, from 10 am - 2 pm, Tuesdays through Saturday, through September. Admission is $8 per adult person, $5 student/youth (6-17) under 6 and over 100 free and families (limit 4) $20. Guided tours for 4 or more people may be arranged; this tour will be 1.5 hours, led by a staff member or volunteer well versed in island history and must be reserved in advance. San Juan Historical Society and Museum always welcomes volunteers, whether they are fulltime or part-time residents. There are a variety of ongoing projects that are challenging, interesting, and give volunteers the opportunity to make a difference in the community.
