Shop locally for the holidays at the Mullis Center’s Annual Holiday Artisan Craft Fair.   We’ll have a full house of local artists and crafters as well as food to eat in or take out.  You’ll be able to find something unique and special for just about everyone on your list: from jewelry, textiles, fine art and home decor to soaps, lotions, potions and more. Amy Hardy producer of the Bleeding Edgewas thrilled to win the Audience Choice Awards for the best film of the 2018 Friday Harbor Film Festival.  Her memorable quote when accepting the award was to the filmmakers themselves when she told them the 10 films she had watched “fed her soul and please give us more”. Overall the Friday Harbor Film Festival enjoyed a great weekend of films, filmmakers and an eager and enthusiastic audience.  There were several sell out venues.  The film festival enjoyed a 20% increase in film viewings in spite of the ferry schedule fiasco.  

The Toy Box will be one of hundreds of retailers across the country celebrating Neighborhood Toy Store Day on November 10, 2018. Spearheaded by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), the annual observance asks shoppers to remember the neighborhood toy stores in their communities as they kick off the holiday shopping season.

Application Deadline Extended for Free Construction Basics Training at FH High School
The application deadline has been extended for the Construction Basics course offered by the San Juan County Economic Development Council (EDC).   The training will be a free program intended to benefit both participating students and local construction companies in need of more employees.
