Senator Charles Perry, a lifelong West Texan, and esteemed CPA hailing from Lubbock, embodies a deep commitment to public service and community betterment. Elected to the Texas Senate in 2014 following two terms in the Texas House of Representatives, Sen. Perry brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs, alongside his Vice-Chair position on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. His extensive legislative portfolio also includes pivotal roles on committees such as Finance, Redistricting, State Affairs, Transportation, and the Sunset Commission. Furthermore, Sen. Perry co-chairs essential bodies like the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT) Advisory Committee and the Texas Infrastructure Resiliency Fund (TIRF), while holding appointments to key water councils by Governor Abbott, underscoring his dedication to securing Texas' vital resources.
