Welcome to Hamilton EMS, a premier Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) healthcare provider licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). As the highest level of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) available in Texas, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional pre-hospital emergency medical care to our community. In January 2020, we achieved the prestigious “Critical Access” designation from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), making us the only EMS provider in Texas to hold this distinction.
For over 30 years, Hamilton EMS has been a cornerstone of emergency medical response in Hamilton County. Our journey began in May 1990 with a single ambulance and a dedicated team of first responders. Today, we have expanded our services to include Mills, San Saba, Lampasas, and Llano counties, operating with a fleet of 10 Mobile Intensive Care Units. Our nearly 100 licensed employees are committed to delivering advanced critical care using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest medications, ensuring that the highest level of pre-hospital emergency medicine is available when it’s needed most.
At Hamilton EMS, we bring the Intensive Care Unit to you. Our ambulances are equipped with Stryker LifePak 15 Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillators, capable of diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiac emergencies. These devices can transmit ECGs and vital information to hospital emergency rooms, cardiac catheterization facilities, and stroke centers during transport, ensuring a seamless transition of care upon arrival. Our advanced cardiac care includes medications such as Nitroglycerin IV drips, Plavix, and Heparin, which are essential for pain relief and restoring blood flow in blocked coronary arteries before reaching a cardiac cath lab.
Our commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by the Lucas 3.1 Devices installed in each MICU and Command Response Vehicle. These devices deliver high-quality, consistent CPR to patients in cardiac arrest, significantly increasing the chances of survival compared to traditional manual chest compressions.
