The three Chronicle newspapers are monthly publications. Please send press releases and story ideas to editor@chroniclenewspapers.com. Please send calendar items specifying which paper the item is for to calendar@chroniclenewspapers.com. Commentary and Reader's Viewpoints submissions are welcome and should be sent to viewpoints@chroniclenewspapers.com. Commentaries should not exceed 700 words, and letters not more than 350. All submissions must include the name, address, and daytime phone number of the author. All submissions are subject to editing. The deadline for consideration for all papers is usually the 15th of the proceeding month. However, call the office to find out the deadline for a specific paper.
In 2002 and in 2004 The Virginia Press Association Awarded the South County Chronicle a first prize for Editorial Writing and a second prize in 2008. In 2005 The South County Chronicle received a second prize for Critical Writing and in 2006 and 2008 a third prize. Also in 2006 the Virginia Press Association awarded the South County Chronicle 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 2 Third Prizes for Creative Advertising.
The papers focus on the news affecting each distribution area including history, entertainment, education, politics, business, and more. The profiles of individuals, articles and features are lengthy, well written and informative. The result is that readers often cannot complete their paper in one reading and keep the paper, giving the advertiser multiple views.
