About Us
Your host, Fred Amator, is an Arizona native who will enlighten you with facts and somewhat factual humorous stories of Arizona. A factual story is that Prescott was the early capital of Arizona. Arizona celebrates its first 100 years on February 12, 2012. Two not so factual stories are that it is so hot in the summer that the chickens lay hard boiled eggs or that the fish that you catch in the dry stream beds are already cleaned and fried with no calories.
Fred started his life in 1945 on a dairy farm southwest of Phoenix. He attended high school and college in Arizona. His hobbies and work have taken him throughout Arizona from the Sonoran desert to the pine covered mountains across the Mogollon rim to the Grand Canyon.
Fred offers five tours, four desert tours and one farm tour. The four desert tours are 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours in length. All four tours have fun roads with plenty to see including cacti, native trees and shrubs. Also, there will be opportunities to see rabbits, lizards, birds and by chance deer or coyotes. The farm tour is 3 hours in length and will include viewing and learning about cotton (in season), melons, small grains, vegetables, potatoes, roses, and a dairy. All tours run 7 days a week from October 1st until April 30th.
The tour groups usually are small in size, two to four people, which allows for an opportunity to see more and have a more intimate discussion with your host. With prior notice larger groups can be accommodated.
