April 2015

President's Corner

Stacy Beck

We have had so many people volunteering endless hours of service this past month. I couldn’t let a letter go out without an enormous THANK YOU!  Our chamber board meets regularly, volunteers countless hours, and meets with businesses every month.  But what I also love seeing are the many faces serving and sharing their expertise that are not on the bored.  Chamber members that see an opportunity to give back to the community!...

Executive Director Message

Will miracles never cease!

Three months and I'm still here and haven't been run out of town on a rail or been tarred and feathered...and that's just by family who are having to deal with me let alone Chamber members and other business owners and civic leaders having to put up with someone whose blood runs strong with olive oil and a mouth and mind always filled with questions wanting to ask.

Welcome to South County

Above is the ad that will be featured in the Daily Herald's Temple Magazine

In July 1776, a group of men and women on what is now America's east coast put into motion a Revolution that would change not only the world in which they were living, but for centuries to come; change to very world as it was and is now known. And during all of the change not a single thought was being given to the small party of explorers who were leaving Santa Fe in the New Mexico led by two Catholic Fathers and today are honored in the main Spanish Fork City Park that sits alongside Utah State Road 198 and is the city's Main Street.

In September of 1776 Fathers Escalante and Dominguez with their party arrived in came through Spanish Fork Canyon and arrived in the community area and began exploring the southern part of the valley.

And beginning April 24 and running until May 23, 2015 the Payson LDS Temple Open House will give tens of thousands of people a chance to return home again, or just make a family trip, that will being them right to the Tail of the Spanish Fathers and given businesses in the area to open doors and services to those people making the trip.

It is estimated approximately 1,200 cars and hour might find their way along State Road 198 by getting off from the Spanish Fork I-15 exit or coming from Price and the south to travel a more peaceful and pleasant route to come to and from the visit to the new Payson LDS Temple.

Return on Investment - How do you measure?

Randi L. Kaufman

Typically, when someone talks of return on investment (ROI) it is a way to measure, per period, rates of return on money invested in an economic entity in order to decide whether or not to undertake an investment.

But in terms of marketing, how do you gauge your ROI when it comes to social media, digital marketing, and other unconventional marketing opportunities such as Play Unplugged?
