Bios are available on the Chamber website at www.spanishforkchamber.com. Check out who is running and prepare to cast your vote during the month of October. Ballots will be emailed to every member so watch for the emails to come out on Oct. 3. Members can only vote once and you must be a chamber member to have an opportunity to vote. Also ballots for the 2011 Chamber Community Awards will be included on the Ballots. Vote for Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Community Action Award, and Total Citizen of the Year! These awards and others will be given away and announced at the 2012 Installation Banquet in January 2012. So Vote on Oct. 3!

October Business of the Month 2011 - Terri Williams Pampered Chef & Mary Kay Consultant
Terri Williams is an active Chamber Member and consultant for Pampered Chef and Mary Kay. She also has her own organization business, she will come out and teach you how to organize your house, etc. She is in doctoral studies at the University of Phoenix and is a busy wife, mother, and grandmother. Terri has been a big help with the Farmer's Market, ribbon cuttings, and other chamber events. She loves people and is friendly, fun, and dependable. The Chamber would like to thank Terri for all her hours of service to the Chamber and to our community. Terri is also running for a position on the Chamber Board. Come out this thurs. Oct. 6 at 8am to congratulate Terri on this award. We will have the celebration at the Spanish Fork City Office building after the board meeting. Congratulations Terri! Shop Local Fair a Success!The Shop Local Fair hosted by the Chamber was successful according to the vendor's who were there. Several sales and tons of contacts were made. Large crowds visited the Farmer's Market and the Shop Local Fair held at the City Office lawns. This event was so successful that the Chamber will host another one on October 22 that will start at 8am and run until 2pm. This Fair will also run along with the Farmer's Market and is open to any local business or crafter who would like to purchase a 10x10' booth space. This is a great way to let the public know what products and services are available here in Spanish Fork. Spanish Fork Farmer's Market Open
The Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Spanish Fork Farmer's Market. The market will run each Saturday through November 5, 2011. The Market is located in the parking lot of the City office building at 100 W Center Street. The Market opens at 8am with vendor setup at 7am. Volunteers are needed to man the Chamber booth. The Chamber booth will be an information center for the Market, the Chamber and any business that volunteers an hour or two at the Chamber booth.
The market this year will be open to produce only! Local farmers and backyard growers may obtain more information from the chamber website or by calling the Chamber Office at 801-798-8352. This Farmer's Market is hosted by the Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. Harvest Moon Hurrah Chamber Booth
The Chamber of Commerce and Randy Gordon Farms are hosting a pumpkin decorating booth at this year's 7th annual Harvest Moon Hurrah presented by the Spanish Fork Arts Council. Saturday October 8, 2:30-9:00 pm at the Library Park (Center & Main St.).
FREE family-friendly event celebrating the harvest and the arts. Activities for children of all ages include games, crafts, 4 giant paint-it-yourself murals, clowns & animal balloons, caricature artists, family photo booth, hay rides with live bluegrass music, storytellers, and over 6 hours of live entertainment featuring Shaun Barrowes & Lindsey Stirling, plus Lincoln Highway, Firefly, Chris Stiles, Drew Briney the juggling storyteller, Steel Harmonics, the Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nebo Chorale, Bryan Burr's interactive drums, "The Impossible Mystery" melodrama and more. Yummy food from vendors for under $3 per item. Bring the entire family and all your friends to this great event that so many in the community call their "favorite event of the year." Scarecrow Contest Entry Forms Available NOW!
Enter the 2011 Scarecrow Contest sponsored by the Spanish Fork/Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. Entries must be in to the Chamber Office by September 29th. The Chamber will assign placement of the entries on Main Street.
Entries must be in place by October 15th to be eligible for voting. Contest rules and sign up sheets are available on the website www.spanishforkchamber.com or at the Chamber Office at 40 South Main Spanish Fork. Voting will be done online or at the City Office Building at 40 South Main Spanish Fork during the month of October. Judging will be done the last week in October with winners to be announced at the Main Street Trick or Treat October 29 at 2pm at the Memorial Square Park at 200 N Main. Main Street Trick or Treat will be held from 1pm to 3pm from Center Street to 400 North. Come out and help the kids of Spanish Fork and the Chamber have a safe and fun alternative to door to door trick or treating.
Queen's Kickball Tournament September 14Miss Spanish Fork Whitney Talbert hosted the Queen's Kicker Kickball Tournament for special needs students from six local high schools. Local businesses sponsored the kids and provided goods and services to make sure everyone received t-shirts, medals, treats, water, and fun. 150 kids enjoyed the games and business owners, school staff, city staff, Nebo School District members, Spanish Fork High athletics students, and Chamber Executive Board, Board of Directors and members were on hand to congratulate all the kids as winners and to applaud Miss Talbert for her efforts. Thanks to everyone who donated, attended, and helped in any way. This is what makes Spanish Fork a unique and wonderful place to live, work, and play!
