Congratulations to the New Miss Spanish Fork - Makyla Theurer

Congratulations to Miss Spanish Fork 2012 Makyla Theurer! Makyla is a student at Spanish Fork High School. Her platform is "Elderly Awareness: Nurture those who Nurtured Us". She believes it is easy to overlook the needs of the elderly, so Makyla wants to promote community involvement with the elderly to give back to those who created our future and stabilized the freedom we have in this country.

Her court is

Jessica Cable is a Spanish Fork High School student. She is promoting the idea of "Let's Move: Eating Healthy & Fighting Childhood Obesity". She wants to promote fitness and healthy eating habits to help our community face obesity head on.  She wants to be a role model by teaching children to "stand taller, be physically active, eat healthier, and run faster through all of life's challenges."

Mariah Dawe is a Spanish Fork High School student whose platform is "Foster with Care". She is working to help fostered teenagers feel like they fit in. Mariah would "hope that I can help to make a difference in our neighborhoods."

Kaitlynn Blood is a student at Maple Mountain High School. Her platform, entitled "Oh The Places You'll Go", is to help young children learn how to, and develop a love for reading. She believes the love of reading needs to be established while they are young because it is much harder to develop as kids get older.

Katina Burt is an American Leadership Academy student. Her platform is Feeling Comfortable in Your Own Skin. She wants to show young people that their attractiveness comes in all different forms, not simply what other people decide is considered acceptable or preferred. Katina wants "the people of Spanish Fork to remember me as the pageant contestant who helped them realize that beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder, but is more importantly in the confidence of the wearer."

Thanks to these awesome young ladies who are going to do a great job representing Spanish Fork this year!

Thanks to the sponsors of the Easter Egg Hunt!

Thanks to the Easter Egg Hunt Committee and to the sponsors who gave so generously this year!  Susan Taylor, Brenda Liddiard, and Heather Hone worked hard to provide over 10,000 eggs filled with candy and coupons for great gifts. Bikes, toys, and grab bags were given those who redeemed their coupons at the event. It was cold and snowy but that didn't dampen the excitement of the kids!  One child wrote to the sponsor of his bike...

"Hi my name is Lane Money and I won a bike at an Easter egg party and it was you guys who gave it to me I will take really good care of it I'm just thanking you for donating the bike I love it so much I have all ready ridden it all over and it is so much fun I just could not believe that I won it and I was just so excited and that. But how I won is I seen one egg standing straight up on a baseball base and then I told all my cousins not to get it and they didn't so I ran across all the eggs and got that one egg and then I seen one more egg and it was a free birthday party at a karate place witch is going to be so fun and I am just so proud of my self and when I opened my egg it said you have won a free bike and then when I got home I opened my other egg and it said that I have won a free birthday party and that is when my whole family started to laugh because I only got two eggs and won some good prizes I thought that it was just plain awesome and luck but any way.

 Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

Lane Money

Thanks again to all who helped in any way with the Easter Egg Hunt! You are truly amazing and awesome!

Sponsors were many and we thank you all!

Big O Tires of Spanish Fork goes Platinum!

The Big O Tires story begins back in 1962, just as America's new love affair with the automobile was hitting high gear. The market for replacement tires was exploding, and independent tire dealers found themselves struggling to compete in the face of low prices offered by major tire manufacturers' own company stores. Big O's founding fathers were a handful of progressive independent tire dealers who decided to band together to form a tire-buying cooperative so that they could secure volume pricing and keep their customers happy. Their concept worked. In the years that followed, The Big O Tires co-op evolved into a full-fledged franchise as it continued to find innovative ways to harness the power of the collective to benefit independent dealerships and their customers.

As Big O Tires continues to thrive and adapt to an ever-changing marketplace, it remains rooted in its humble beginnings as a proud collective of independent dealers committed to putting its customers first.

Big O Tires of Spanish Fork are proud members of the Chamber of Commerce and our business community! They provide awesome customer service and great deals on tires, repairs, and more! Come in and check out our local Big O Tire location at 570 N Main Spanish Fork 801-798-9827

Clegg's Auto goes Platinum!

Clegg's Auto Sales and Service has gone Platinum with the Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce! Owner Steve Clegg's focus is on quality and honesty, and excellent customer service. “Once people come in and get to know us, they learn they can trust us, and they come back again. We have a lot of repeat customers, and much of our new business comes from referrals,” he said.

Clegg Auto Service has been around for 12 years. Clegg himself has been in the business of fixing cars since he was 17 years old, when he went to work for his uncle in the north end of the valley. He worked there for 10 years, even becoming a business partner with his cousin when his uncle retired. But Clegg lived in Spanish Fork, and saw a need for an auto repair shop here. He sold his end of the family business, and started Clegg Auto Service at 1447 North Main in Spanish Fork. From there it has continued to grow and expand.

Clegg continues to keep top-of-the-line equipment and the latest technology to ensure that he can provide the best quality of service to his customers. At Clegg Auto Service, they do everything but body work, and recently have even brought in a few vehicles for sale. “People will tell me exactly what they want in a car, and we’ll go to the auctions and find what they need,” Clegg said.  The quality of his staff, customer service, and attention to detail makes Clegg Auto the place to go with your auto repair or purchase needs.

Congratulations to Steve Clegg and Clegg Auto Sales and Service!
