WIBSUC Helps Raise Money for Mac’s Gifts

Women in Business South Utah County members recently pulled together to raise funds for Mac’s Gift Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Mac's Gift is an organization designed to bring relief and joy to families who have children who suffer with cancer. This horrible disease not only affects the child, but the whole family. And that is what makes this foundation unique.

Maple Mountain High School FFA Festival of Trees

Maple Mountain FFA gave a gift of love to the Festival of Trees held in Sandy Utah. This year the officers chose the theme of "We Wish You a Rustic Christmas." Two of the senior boys, Shadoe Holm and Decker Nielson, designed and created the tree completely out of horse shoes. It took 200 horseshoes and 15 man hours to complete. The tree was simply decorated by the rest of the officer team with lights and garland. Burlap boxes were created to be put with the tree.

Spanish Fork City December's Business of the Month

On December 10, 2013, The City of Spanish Fork received Business of the Month for their support of local business and the economic growth of the city.  

The Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce voted to give this award to Spanish Fork City for the work the Spanish Fork City Council and the city staff do to bring new business opportunities to Spanish Fork.

Platinum Member Highlight: Dirty Jo Punsters

Tresa Ahlin has been the owner and operator of the Spanish Fork-based boutique Dirty Jo Punsters, since 1990. Ahlin has been actively engaged in community service and has been a huge proponent for shopping local and revitalizing Main Street.  She spent eight years on the Board of the Spanish Fork/Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and served as Spanish Fork/Salem Area Chamber of Commerce President in 1999.

Ribbon Cutting for Lifehouse Performing Arts Academy


Lifehouse Performing Arts Academy held their ribbon cutting on November 21, 2013. Members from the Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce attended with students, friends, community members, and family.

The academy was founded by Nesha Woodhouse in 2000 in her 15×15 family. Lifehouse has grown over the years through different facilities including a garage, a converted racquetball court, Peeteneet Academy, an old True Value Hardware and has now settled in 17,500 square foot facility in Salem, Utah.

Winter Lights Parade


The Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce lit up Main Street with their annual Winter Lights Parade on November 29th.

This year the Winter Lights Parade had 42 entries, including schools, local businesses, families, as well as anyone else who wanted to be a part of the parade. For some families being in the parade is an annual tradition. Parade participants spend much time decorating their entries to be full of lights and make everyone excited for the holiday season.
