Parents turn to Kumon to help their children gain skills in math and reading, but they soon realize that Kumon's benefits extend far beyond the classroom.  At Kumon, students gain the skills needed to fulfill their potential.  They learn to achieve more on their own and become self-motivated, developing a love of learning and life skills as well as the focus to solve problems independently.

Kumon was started 50 years ago in Japan by Toru Kumon, a teacher and parent who wanted to help his son do better in school.  The individualized method he created was so successful his son was able to independently study advanced concepts ahead of his peers.

Today Kumon's math program gives children a solid understanding of mathematic concepts and strong computation skills, from counting to calculus.  Kumon's reading program takes kids from the ABC's to classic works of literature including the poetry of T.S. Elliot and Shakespeare's Macbeth.  To build confidence, the process allows students to advance at their own pace.

Kumon can help children who may be struggling and need to catch up, as well as those who are seeking enrichment.  Our ultimate goal is for all students to study advanced material, and to always have opportunities to reach their full potential.
