September 16th: BLOOD DRIVE- The Sylvester Womens Club will be hosting s Blood Drive at the Margret Jones Library from 2:00PM to 7:00PM.
The 2011 Eggs Festival will be held on September 17th, in Sumner, Georgia. Schedule of Events: Shade Tree Rod & Custom Car Show: Car Club Street Dance, Door Prizes, Awards, Games, Refreshments, and Family Fun! Registration fee $20.00 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. September 17th: Saturday morning will start with a BBQ Cookoff then at 10:00 AM the Eggs Festival begins with the Parade. The Festival will continue all day and will include a Wild, Wild, West Show. September 24th: DriveOne4URSchool- the event is planned for September 24th from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. It will bel held in the WCHS student parking lot. For every test drive taken in a Ford vehicle, the school will receive a $20.00 donation. This is an opportunity for WCHS to raise $6000. For more details please contact Heather Faircloth at 229-776-8600. September 27th: Margaret Jones Public Library will be hosting its first book discussion group on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at 7 pm. They will begin with the book, “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett. So much buzz has been created by this great book and we hope to have a lively discussion. Please forward this to anyone who might be interested in joining the group, “Pages Worth Turning.” Hope to see you @ the library! It’s “Fall” Crow time! FALL CROW CONTEST - LET'S DECORATE SYLVESTER-WORTH COUNTY WITH FALL CROWS!! Please plan on participating in Sylvester's 1st Annual Fall Crow Contest. The Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Down Town Enhancement Program to get the word out!! Ms. Brittany Evans wants to see Fall Crows everywhere in Sylvester!!! Registration begins on Sept 26 and closes on Oct 13 with a fee of $10.00 to participate. Judging will be held on Oct 14, and the winner announced at the Georgia Peanut Festival on October 15th. October 1st: Safe Kids Sylvester/ Worth County: 3rd Annual "Safety Saturday" Please join the Sylvester Fire Department and its supporting partners on October 1st, from 11:00 AM to 2:00PM for a day of fun safety for all children of Worth County! Safety Events to include car seat checks, a bike rodeo with free bicycle helmets, Kid Prints ID's, gun safety locks, fun and food will be provided. See what's going on in the Worth County School system for the month of September! Relay For Life: Time to start planning this year's relay for life. Worth County Relay Teams had an awesome year last year and the year before and they want to have a THREE- PETE! The Committe is planning to have its kick-off on September 19th at the library at 6:00. The Relay for this year will be April 27th. Meetings will be held once a month , except for December when the Love Lights event takes place with the Lighting of the tree. Please start brainstorming with your team events and possible dates for these events to share with the group in September. Time to start rockin' and rollin'. Did you Know?
