45Years Ago - August 7, 1975
"The new Peavy Farm Service peanut warehouse is now 65 percent complete, with total construction to be finished by August 15, according to Manager Bobby Gay. The old structure was destroyed by a fire, and insurance settlement has not been worked out. The warehouse is to be finished well before the first incoming peanuts are expected around August 20-25. This new structure will be the tallest peanut warehouse on record, with a capacity of 5,600 tons compared with only 2,800 for the former one.
The Annual Lion of the Year Award was announced by Lion President Ted Myers, at the last regular meeting of Warwick Lions Club. Selected for this honor was Charlie Perry, current secretary-treasurer of the organization."

New Recreation Center
A new Recreation Center is popping up on Ashburn Highway. It will include bleachers, lights, restrooms, food, and parking. This project has been in the works for some time now and is finally getting started, much to the delight of the community.

Remembering Our Heroes
July 24th marked the 20th anniversary of the tragic Life Flight crash in Sumner, GA that took the lives of all three personnel aboard. In observance of the anniversary, a granite bench inscribed with the names of the fallen heroes was erected at Jefford's Park on Saturday, July 25th.
