Help us pick a winner in Sylvester-Worth County, and send in your Nominations today!
Looking for Georgia’s Small Business Rock Stars:

The August 19th GEDA luncheon will showcase small business – that is, the Rock Stars of Small Business. The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) have teamed together to recognize the outstanding, out-of-the-box, unique and impacting small businesses in the state of Georgia. Recognizing any type of small business that employs under 50, we want to salute the risks, the innovations, the outreach, the impact, the reasons why…all of these qualities abound in Georgia and we want to make this a special day for our small businesses.

Nominate a company, forward to your connections or send this to any company who you believe stands above the rest (companies may also nominate themselves).

The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is JUNE 1, 2013 and the winners will be notified by July 1, 2013.
We look forward to saluting Georgia’s small businesses with you!
The August 2013 Luncheon Committee:
Mike Pennington, President, GEDA
Eric van Otteran, Entrepreneur SIG chair, GEDA
Mary Ellen McClanahan, Director, Entrepreneur & Small Business, GDEcD
Ryan Waldrep, Project Manager Region 9, GDEcD
Adela Kelley, Project Manager Region 7, GDEcD

WORTH COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM NEEDS OUR HELP!
Please take a moment to fill out the survey below

Worth County Board of Education has asked us to share the following information:

VERY IMPORTANT for our Community. Please take a moment to read and fill out the surveys.
What an easy way to contribute to the betterment of our Schools!!

Worth County School District needs help from parents and stakeholders.
The process of monitoring stakeholder perceptions is important because it helps schools:

• Generate data and evidence for school improvement and accreditation purposes
• Gain support for improvement initiatives
• Create baseline measures for school improvement (pre- and post- measures)

AdvancED surveys produce useful, relevant results; allow direct comparison of results across schools; are research-based; employ time-tested, reliable questions; and leverage the experience of experts in the education and research field.

Please complete the appropriate survey by May 17, 2013. Remember, this will provide very important baseline data for us. We will ask parents and stakeholders to complete the surveys again in the fall.
